Abs-olutely!
Just weeks before her 40th birthday, Gwen Stefani rocks out and shows off her killer abs (courtesy of her workout sessions with celeb trainer Gunnar Peterson) while sporting a chic and edgy tuxedo look with black combat boots at the F1 Rocks Singapore concert in Singapore on Sept. 25. Turning 40 never looked so good!
Designing Woman
As L.A.M.B. grows up, Gwen Stefani shows off her street smarts with this Spring 2010 collection on Sept. 10 at Milk Studios in New York City. Bursts of bright color are interspersed with all-black ensembles for a retro ’80s vibe.
Great Expectations
While pregnant with second son Zuma in July 2008, Gwen shows off her pregnancy chic in a maternity maxidress with a boho print during a day at the Malibu beach with her family. Gwen has said that husband Gavin Rossdale is the perfect father. “He’s made to be a dad. I’m very lucky,” she told Glamour magazine.
On the Runway
Stefani takes a break from touring to showcase her designing talent during L.A.M.B.’s Spring 2008 New York Fashion Week runway show in Sept. 2007. Wearing her very own houndstooth creation from the line, she never forgets to be a mommy—even at work, son Kingston is in tow.
Spot On
Sporting her famous blonde pompadour and a Gwen-designed leopard-print coat dress, the stylemaker announces the launch of her L.A.M.B. fragrance with Coty Inc. in Dec. 2006. “The whole L.A.M.B. thing is pretty greedy. I’m making it all for me,” she told the Associated Press at the time about joining the ranks of other celeb perfumers like Sarah Jessica Parker and Jennifer Lopez. “The goal with this fragrance is that I’ll wear it and have endless bottles of it.”
Family Ties
In Feb. 2006, a pregnant Gwen Stefani shows off her baby bump in a boho-chic dress on the red carpet. Piling a bunch of bracelets on her arm like Madonna did back in the ’80s, Stefani brings back the trend from the past.
‘Holla’ at Her
Accepting the favorite female artist award in cuffed denim and a boyfriend blazer at the 2005 American Music Awards, Gwen continued the success of Love. Angel. Music. Baby. Her single “Hollaback Girl” became the first digital download to sell one million copies.
Lending a Hand
Gwen posed in casual plaid jacket and cargo pants with rocker Ozzy Osbourne to promote a tsunami-relief charity in Jan. 2005. Later that year, she embarked on her Harajuku Lovers tour to promote her first solo album, where she blended her love of fashion and music by donning more than four costume changes during each show.
Screen Siren
Gwen Stefani turned movie star with her portrayal of classic screen goddess Jean Harlow alongside Leonardo Di Caprio in the Martin Scorsese-directed 2004 biopic The Aviator.
At the film’s L.A. premiere in Dec. 2004, Stefani—who told MTV “acting is a lot harder than singing”—showed off her romantic side with a girly pink gown and platinum ringlets.
Getting Schooled
Gwen’s Harajuku schoolgirl ensemble drove fans crazy during a celebration in Rome in Nov. 2004. The previous year, the singer launched L.A.M.B., a clothing and accessories line. Fashion has always been in her blood: The trendsetter started making her own clothes with the help of her mom during her school years.
Curves Ahead
At the 2004 MTV Video Music Awards, a glam Gwen—wearing a Louis Vuitton pencil skirt and bustier—accepted a Moonman with No Doubt for best pop video for “It’s My Life.” Within a year, she’d give up form-fitting ensembles when she revealed that she was pregnant with her first son Kingston during a Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., tour stop promoting her first solo album Love. Angel. Music. Baby. “I want you to sing so loud that the baby hears it,” she told the audience.
Wedded Bliss
Gwen and her rocker beau of six years, Gavin Rossdale—who first met in 1995 when No Doubt was opening for the British singer’s grunge-rock band Bush—tied the knot in a storybook ceremony at London’s St. Paul’s Church on July 14, 2002. Two weeks later, the happy couple walked down the aisle again in Los Angeles with Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt in attendance. For the double nuptials, Gwen donned a white-and-rose John Galliano couture dress with an antique veil.
Not ‘Just a Girl’
After No Doubt was propelled into stardom with the multiplatinum-selling Tragic Kingdom in 1995, fans couldn’t get enough of frontwoman’s Gwen Stefani’s vocals—or her style. Gwen showed up at the VH1/Vogue Fashion Awards in Dec. 1999 sporting a pink wig, faux pink fur, and pink go-go boots ensemble. Rock on!
About Gwen Stephani:
Gwen Renée Stefani Rossdale (born October 3, 1969) is an American singer and fashion designer. Stefani serves as lead vocalist for the rock band No Doubt. With previous material ranging from punk rock to new wave music, their third wave ska oriented third studio album Tragic Kingdom (1995) propelled them to stardom, selling 16 million copies worldwide. It spawned the singles “Just a Girl”, “Spiderwebs”, and “Don’t Speak”. The band’s popularity went into decline with its fourth album, Return of Saturn (2000), but Rock Steady (2001) focused on dancehall production traits, and generally received positive reviews.
