During the hiatus of Destiny’s Child in 2003 Knowles released her debut solo album Dangerously in Love, which spawned the hits “Crazy in Love” and “Baby Boy”, and became one of the most successful albums of that year, earning her a then record-tying five Grammy awards.[3] Following the group’s disbandment in 2005, Knowles released B’Day in 2006, which debuted at number one on the Billboard charts and included the hits “Déjà Vu” and “Irreplaceable”. DeGeneres said the gift was intended to prevent a “wardrobe malfunction” when Anderson dons the inevitable skimpy costume during her stint on Dancing With the Stars, which begins again March 22. (Anderson has been paired with professional partner Damian Whitewood.) DeGeneres also gave the pair their own footwear: Blue fuzzy slippers for Whitewood and sky-high, blinged-out stilettos with clear heels for Anderson.

We caught up with Jennifer Aniston to talk about starring in the film, working with Gerard Butler & the Friends movie rumour.

Q: So what made you choose to make The Bounty Hunter?

JA: “Well, I loved the romance, the suspense and the action of it all. It has a kind of Midnight Run element to it which I like. It just seemed like something fun. I had never really done anything that had action before.

Q: You certainly suffered physically.

JA: “I did! I was dumped and locked in a trunk. I ran for miles and miles in 4ins Manolos. I was covered in pond scum, had car chases, crashes. But it was so much fun.”

Q: You do a lot of running in high heels. Is that all you or did you have doubles?

JA: “It’s all me. There was a lot of soaking my feet in ice buckets at the end of the day. There may still be some permanent bone damage but we’ll see (laughs).”

Q: How do you see your character’s relationship with Gerard’s in this?

JA: “Well I think, like anything, you’re attracted to what it is each does really well. She’s a reporter and he was a cop and they used to break things down together but I guess somehow or another, as relationships do if you get lazy, they just started to not pay attention. So almost the things they loved about each other are now the things they hate – his commitment to work, her lack of attention to him or vice-versa. That’s what’s fun about watching their story, because as he chases her they kind of get back to the fun and beauty of what their relationship was and fall back in love.”

Q: Gerard plays a bit of a slob in this film. He dribbles, he snores, he’s messy. Is he like that in real life?

JA: “Oh God no. Well…maybe the eating thing (laughs). No, he’s just a lovely guy. We get along so well. He’s just so funny. He’s so disarming because here is this gorgeous, Scottish actor you think you should be afraid of but he’s really just a softie. He’s fun, sweet and kind to everybody.”

Q: You and Gerard do have this amazing chemistry on and off screen. You can see why there are all these rumours that you are more than just friends and co-stars?

JA: “There’s always going to be rumours. I think that has become a formula where they think that if you do a movie together and you get along really well then you must be dating.”

Q: So why is the world so keen to see you in a relationship with your leading men?

JA: “I really think it’s just fodder. It has no backing at all.”

Q: But Gerard has been starting some of those rumours. He’s been saying how he’s been snogging you.

JA: “Yeah he starts those rumours. It’s his fault.”

Q: We hear all this gossip about you but what is the real Jen like?

JA: “The real me is just that I’m extremely happy. I have a very simple life. I have extremely great friends and a really lucky career. I’m extremely fortunate. None of the other stuff is me. You know, there’s all this stuff about calculating and how me and Gerry are in this fake relationship for the press of our movie or whatever. It’s just so insulting but it’s just a story. I’m getting to a better place where I understand that it’s just about making money.”

Q: Do you think it’s possible for exes to get back together in real life?

JA: “Absolutely. Sometimes you meet each other at a time in your lives when you’re not necessarily ready or you’re not fully formed to sort of have the maturity it takes to be in a relationship. I think that’s sort of what happened to them (her and Gerard’s characters) in a way.”

Q: And accept all those bad habits.

JA: “Yeah. Just having that maturity to accept that it’s not all black and white.”

Q: You have a lot of close female friends of course. So what is your perfect girly night out?

JA: “Every Tuesday night we all used to get together and go to a Mexican restaurant. Taco Tuesdays we used to call them.”

Q: You best friend is Courteney Cox and you are godmother to her little girl, Coco. What does she call you?

JA: “She calls me Noo-na.”

Q: Do you spend much time with her?

JA: “Every weekend. She’s just growing up to be the most lovely, sweet, funny, creative… I mean , we all just sit there in awe or her sometimes.”

Q: Finally, I have to ask about another rumour. Is there going to be a Friends movie?

JA: “I don’t know. I don’t think it would be a bad thing but do you really want to see a Friends movie?”

Q: Yes!

JA: “Well, anything is possible but it’s all been just rumour up to now.”
